After-School SPED Literacy & Math Tutor

DMDL, INC. is seeking an Illinois-certified/SPED qualified teacher to provide supplemental literacy and math tutoring for students in grades 5 through 9, including those receiving IEPs. This position will support students through small-group and individualized instruction aligned to academic goals and learning needs.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide small-group and/or one-to-one tutoring in literacy and math
  • Support students in grades 5–9, including students with IEPs or identified learning needs
  • Deliver instruction aligned with curriculum standards and student learning goals
  • Apply differentiated instructional strategies and SPED-aligned best practices as appropriate
  • Monitor student progress and communicate outcomes with program staff
  • Maintain professionalism, consistency, and confidentiality in all instructional settings

Required Qualifications:

  • Special Education (SPED) endorsement
  • Valid Illinois Professional Educator License (PEL)
  • Experience providing literacy and math instruction to students in grades 5 – 9
  • Ability to support diverse learners, including students with special education needs
  • Strong classroom management and instructional delivery skills

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Wilson Reading System Certification

Position Details:

  • Independent Worker available to provide after-school academic tutoring support
  • In-person supplemental instruction to students in small-group and/or individualized settings
  • Schedule and hours based on independent worker’s availability

Compliance:

  • Proof of licensure and certification
  • Background check clearance
